Michael. Mike. Mikey. Dad. Boss. Mentor. Goodman Gloonan at his local Bronxville Chinese restaurant. Fucking Goonan when he astonished friends. The Goondog. Or simply, The Dawg.
However you knew him, one thing was certain – when you interacted with Mike, you encountered a Force of Nature. His combination of intellect, humor and quick wit was incomparable and awe-inspiring.
His many traits included, but were not limited to: being a consummate family man, husband and father; possessing strong Irish Catholic faith and values; a trusted boss, mentor, and confidant; a rabid Yankees fan; and the most loyal friend. Importantly, if you were a friend of Mike’s, you were immediately part of his family. And he loved and cherished his family and friends with all his heart!

Tunnel To Towers
Proud supporter of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Working in NYC at the time, Mike’s office was across the street from the World Trade Centers, and he was chased down the street by a cloud of smoke and debris during their collapse on 9/11. Additionally, several life-long friends were members of the NYC Fire and Police Departments. Accordingly, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is an important charity to the Goonans, and a donation will be made in his honor from a portion of the proceeds of the Outing.
